The Clear Life Program
Every hearing clinic gives you a window to change your mind. Almost none of them will say what the hearing aids are actually supposed to achieve.
The Candid Hearing Promise
Days 1 to 30
If you are not happy for any reason at all, bring them back for a full refund. You do not have to justify it, you will not be asked to try one more adjustment first, and nobody will attempt to talk you out of it.
Days 31 to 60
Wear them every day. At sixty days we ask the people who live with you whether they can notice a clear difference. If they cannot, and you are not satisfied, you get every cent back. They are the ones who have been repeating themselves. They will know before you do.
Why two, and not just one. A thirty-day window on its own only tests whether you liked them. Sixty days of daily wear tests whether they worked, and the people who live with you are the ones who can answer that. Nobody else in Canberra audiology will put a name to the result they are accountable for. We will.
Three tiers
All prices are for a pair. Every tier carries the same promise and the same ninety days of follow-up. If you are eligible under the Hearing Services Program, which covers most pensioners and DVA card holders, a range of devices is fully subsidised and none of these figures apply to you.
Clear Start
Essential technology, fitted properly.
$2,800a pair
Clear Life
What most people choose, and what we would choose.
$4,000a pair
Clear Life+
For noisy lives: meetings, restaurants, grandchildren.
$5,500a pair
Price should not be the reason someone spends another three years not hearing their grandchildren. If these figures are a problem, say so when you come in and it will be worked around.
Included with Clear Life
The devices are the smaller half of the problem. Hearing aids end up in drawers because the first fortnight is uncomfortable and nobody followed up.
So the follow-up is booked in advance, at the fitting, before you leave the room. You do not have to decide whether your difficulty is worth ringing about.
Five scheduled appointments at weeks 1, 2, 4, 8 and 12. Booked at the fitting, not left to you to chase.
For as long as you wear the aids. Hearing changes; the programming should change with it.
Included, so a flat battery is never the reason the aids sat in a drawer.
A $165 service. Wax and hearing aids interfere with each other constantly.
They have been repeating themselves for years. It is worth checking why.
Printed, plain English, so the person who was not in the room can read it too.
Optional, $49 a month. Unlimited adjustments, an annual hearing test, cleaning and supplies, and priority booking. It is offered once your ninety days are finished rather than bundled into the sale, and plenty of people decide against it.
The 90-Day Adaptation Program
Sound your brain has not processed properly in years arrives all at once. Your own voice sounds wrong. You can hear the fridge. This is normal, it passes, and it is the point at which most people quit.
What patients say
Real reviews left on Google, unedited.
I have visited Candid Hearing twice now and found Pooja very knowledgeable and efficient. More than that she offers the very important personal experience. As an independent Audiologist she is not out to sell you the most expensive items. In fact she talked me down to the base model Hearing aids (Govt supported) and as a pensioner this is very important to me.
My 80 year old mother was referred to Candid Hearing by her GP. We were with Poojitha for 2 hours for testing. She explained every step of the process and was extremely thorough. She was very kind and patient with my mum. We were provided with a comprehensive report which was sent to the GP within 2 days.
My appointment with independent audiologist Pooja was excellent. Pooja’s attention to detail was clear and informative. Compared to other companies e.g. Amplifon I highly recommend POOJA.
Common questions
Neither. The prices are the prices. What the program does is make explicit what is included beyond the devices themselves, and commit in writing to the result we are accountable for. Most clinics leave both of those vague.
Then a range of good devices is fully covered and you pay nothing for them, and the ninety-day program and the follow-up still apply. About half the people Pooja sees are in this category. Ask before you look at the prices and assume they are for you.
At the fitting, we write down what you are currently finding hard, and we ask the person who lives with you what they notice. At the sixty-day review we ask them again. If they cannot report a clear improvement and you are not satisfied, you get a full refund. Their judgement, not ours.
You get your money back. There is no restocking fee and no partial refund arithmetic. If you were funded rather than paying privately, there is nothing to refund, and you simply stop wearing them.
The unusual part is not the length, it is what is being guaranteed. Most trial periods say you are allowed to change your mind. The Partner Test says what the hearing aids are supposed to achieve, and hands the verdict to the people who have been repeating themselves for years rather than to us.
Within the first 30 days, yes, and people do in both directions. If the premium device turns out to be more than your life needs, say so and you will be moved down with the difference refunded.
An optional ongoing plan at $49 a month covering unlimited adjustments, an annual hearing test, cleaning and battery or charging supplies, and priority booking. It is offered after your ninety days, not at the point of sale, and plenty of people do not take it.
No, and you will not be asked to. You will get the assessment, the recommendation and a written quote, and you can take it home. Nobody here is paid commission, so nobody here benefits from rushing you.
You will leave with your results, a recommendation and a written quote. Nobody here works on commission, so nobody here needs an answer today.
